One of my favorite photo shoots. The only thing she is wearing that is actual clothing is the leather bra. Everything else was acres of fabric that we pinned, tied, wrapped and stuffed into that little bra.
I have that top image hanging in my bedroom, it’s so gorgeous.
(Print bought from the photographer, of course!)

Another thing I love about my friends: their shoes.
From “A Series of Questions”, a project where the viewer is confronted with the inappropriate questions often asked of trans people. These new images —plus the ones which were already viewable online— are up at Weingarten’s site.
This series just keeps getting better.
Glad to see this going around again! It’s a great project. TW for anti-trans (or trans-ignorant) questions.
catherine opie’s photography. her work ranges from surfers to s&m to queerness to children to domestic households to architecture and much more. personally, i think her most profound body of work is being and having, which consisted of highly intimate portraits of herself and friends. her work most often addresses issues of identity and/or community: how they’re formed and what influences them—anything from the surrounding architecture to one’s own gender identity.
Love her :D
isn’t this first picture with the person with the mustache and teardrop in the opening sequence of the l word?
